The University of Sydney Movement and Dance Society (MADSOC) proudly presents Elemental X Purgatory, the double-billed 2022 Major Production!
Many ancient cultures independently proposed that the nature and complexity of all substances could be reduced to four simpler substances: earth, fire, water and air. Elemental explores the raw, undefined nature of these foundation blocks, as well as their connections to our lives.
Purgatory will present an epic battle between the good and the evil. Who will be judged as wicked? How will we recognise the righteous? Purgatory will explore how these concepts, which seem black and white, can become blurred and indistinguishable through different perspectives.
Directors Elizabeth Rose and Madeleine Vincent
